Welcome

I'M GLAD

YOU'RE HERE

If you’re curious who’s behind Sybaritic Studios and how I think about coaching, this is the short version.

This is a space for musicians, composers, and multi-hyphenates of all creative stripes who are ready to get out of the grind-and-guess cycle. I’m here to help you organize your ideas, untangle your overwhelm, and build a life that supports your art — not the other way around.

Let’s make your work feel like you again.

This isn’t an e-course factory. This is a coaching studio for grown-ass artists.

Hi, I'm Megan

I help creative professionals in music get out of the grind-and-guess cycle and into careers that feel focused, sustainable, and creatively alive. Think of this as the space where your professional instincts meet real-world execution — with accountability, clarity, and that signature sybaritic flair.

As a performer, I've collaborated with over one hundred living composers to premiere and advocate for new works.

I hold leadership positions at national arts organizations that span classical music, community access, and tech-for-good.

I am a faculty member for the Peabody Institute’s Professional Studies Department, a Voting Member of the Recording Academy, and a frequent presence at national convenings like New Music Gathering and Americans for the Arts.

A Few Things That Make Me... Me

FUN FACTS

Before I was coaching creative professionals, I was in the rehearsal room, on the road, in the grant portals, and knee-deep in spreadsheets like the rest of us. (I'm also still in the rehearsal room, on the road, and in those grant portals, etc...) My work is shaped by a love of performance, a brain wired for systems, and an absolute refusal to believe artists have to suffer to succeed.

  • I once performed John Cage’s Aria at a Halloween-themed burlesque show — featuring strippers with chainsaws, malfunctioning smoke machines, and a fire alarm that would not quit. I turned it into a full audience-participation experience.

  • I quit three college teaching gigs in one semester with nothing lined up, because the old career model just didn’t fit. Instead of burning out, I built a custom freelance role from scratch and pitched it across my network. I turned that leap into a framework I now teach other artists who are ready to trade exhaustion for autonomy.

  • I once accidentally sent my unhinged, expletive-laced Google Doc edits to my editor at a national publication. Needless to say, she was not the intended recipient of that particular brand of chaos. But, a year later, she hired me into the organization. Moral: Own your voice, even when it’s too spicy for the first draft.

If these make you smile, we're gonna get along.

A Couple Quick Case Studies...

Creative Business Overhaul

FINALLY CHARGING WHAT SHE’S WORTH

After years of burnout from underpricing, a brilliant composer was trapped in a cycle of overwork and overwhelm. We worked together to get clear on her value, streamline her offers, and implement systems that respected her time and talent.

  • Audited her existing pricing model and restructured her rates around her actual needs and creative goals

  • Created a simple pitch and workflow that supported more lucrative collaborations

  • Set up a system for screening projects that aligned with her artistic values

Leadership Meets Livelihood

MAKING ROOM TO CREATE WHILE RUNNING THE SHOW

An executive arts leader + artist who felt like his executive responsibilities were crowding out his own voice. Our coaching work helped him reclaim creative space while leading with clarity and confidence.

  • Clarified his leadership identity to merge artistry and administration

  • Designed weekly structure for balancing internal operations with external creative work

  • Coached through a team restructuring that reduced decision fatigue and burnout

Let's Collaborate

You're not behind. You're not broken.
You don’t need to do it all alone.
You just need a clear path, a good system, and a coach who gets it.
